I am a qualified person-centred counsellor and Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (member number 377301) and have experience of working in schools and NHS venues with children, adults, couples and groups. Before re-training as a counsellor I worked in various paid and voluntary roles including:
I have several counselling qualifications, including but not limited to: Higher National Certificate, Higher National Diploma, BACP Certificate of Proficiency, COSCA Supervision Certificate, Post Graduate Certificate with Merit - Pluralistic Counselling, Certificate in Couples Counselling, PDA in Counselling for Children.
At the heart of my practice is my person-centred approach and foundation, but I also have trained in other modalities which are deeply rooted in the person-centred principles, such as pluralistic, humanistic and integrative counselling, meaning as a counsellor and client, we will work collaboratively and our sessions are tailored to your specific needs or issues.
I will give you a space free of judgement, where you can work through and process any difficulties you are facing. My primary focus is to gain an understanding about how you are currently experiencing life. This may include any problems or challenges you face, or anything else which may come up during our sessions. Our relationship and our therapy will be collaborative.
As well as my counselling and supervision work, I offer 'Nature Connection Sessions' and I design and run workshops. I have also appeared in print and on radio discussing the benefits of working outdoors and have worked with several third sector organisations and corporate clients as a Project Lead and in a consultancy role.
I am based in Pollok Country Park and am able to offer both indoor and outdoor sessions from this location.
I look forward to hearing from you,
Sean
